Twice monthly enjoy "Sip & Swing Sundays", where we showcase local jazz and blues bands as well as up-and-coming musicians. And tonight, a bona fide star!!
This week we proudly welcome Albuquerque's own Ryan Montaño, an internationally celebrated trumpeter, songwriter, video creator and recording artist!
Hailed by global saxophone icon Dave Koz as an artist who is “pushing the instrumental music world forward in a triumphant, very tangible and highly unique way” and a “multi-talented renaissance man” by Trend magazine, Montaño’s beautiful tone, sophisticated and memorable compositions, impactful live performances and precise technique have garnered him global radio airplay and festival performances across the United States.
A 5-time Billboard-charting recording artist, Montaño’s debut contemporary jazz single "I'd Like That" found nationwide popularity and acclaim by reaching the 14th position on the Billboard National Jazz Airplay chart. His follow up single "Honey Girl" peaked at #13 on Billboard after 20 consecutive weeks on the chart. His current record “Dreamer” has become a #1 hit in the country of Spain. His latest album “Truth Journey” has garnered over 5 million streams on Spotify.
The success of his music has led to nation-wide performances at jazz and music festivals across the country including the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, The Phil Denny Armory Jazz Festival, The Seabreeze Jazz Festival "Rising Star" performance slot and several others.
