Thursday Nights at Babydoll’s, we feature Albuquerque’s best and brightest jazz and blues artists!

This week, Babydoll's proudly presents The Staciawa Collective, featuring vocalist Staciawa Abbott, with Steve Figueroa on piano, Artha Meadors on bass, David Bethany on drums and Ariadna Chavez on flute, sax and vocals.

Staciawa Abbott is a celebrated vocalist, digital creator, and musician based in New Mexico. Known for her dynamic work across jazz, R&B, and soulful renditions, she is a prominent fixture in the New Mexico music scene. Staciawa is lionized for her powerful vocal performances spanning a variety of genres. Her soulful, emotive style has earned her recognition as a standout artist in the Southwest. She frequently performs with international heavyweights and various ensembles, such as Fred Wesley, Dwayne Dolphin, Tom Browne and Poogie Bell, to name a few.

She has notably performed alongside the Rodney Bowe Experience and the Got Soul band and has been a featured performer at various community-oriented and cultural festivals including Albuquerque's and Santa Fe MLK and Juneteenth celebrations. Staciawa was featured in the Women’s Voices: A Night of Serious Swingin’ concert series in ABQ. Her musical talent has been widely recognized, including a New Mexico Music Award nomination for "Best Vocals" for her rendition of " Tennessee Whiskey with Michael Matison and Toni Morgan.

Staciawa Abbott is a recognized presence and staple in the Southwest’s live music scene. “The Staciawa Collective” is the newest project that has blossomed. “The Collective” is an actual collective of like-minded artists and musicians that come together in harmony, awareness and musical integrity. She has curated “The Collective” out of necessity for the musical climate in this particular area she feels is underrepresented.
