This week, Babydoll's proudly presents the legendary Michael Anthony and his Quartet!

L.A. transplant and New Mexico treasure Michael Anthony is affectionally called “Uncle Mike” by Albuquerque musicians, many of whom he took under his wings. Michael is a legendary studio and concert musician whose credits are too vast to list here, but some notables include performing with Gil Evans (accompanying Miles Davis at the Monterey Jazz Festival), Neil Hefty, Quincy Jones, Bobby Shew, Claire Fischer, Hubert Laws and Louie Belson. Michael has recorded and performed with: Tony Bennett, Nelson Riddle, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mandel, The Beach Boys, Peggy Lee, Diana Ross (Do You Know Where You're Going To, Theme From Mahogany), Barbara Streisand and the LA Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta. His movie and TV Productions include the soundtracks to Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid (Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head), The Carol Burnett Show, The Flintstones, Happy Days and New York, New York.

Michael Anthony  is a New Mexico Music Hall of Fame alumnus, a former member of the Board of Directors of the American Federation of Musicians Union Local 618 (along with then President Tracey Whitney), a jazz instructor at UNM and The New Mexico Jazz Workshop. He’s also a published author with several jazz guitar instructional books and 12 CD’s to his credit. The Michael Anthony Quartet, featuring Paul Gonzales on trumpet, Milo Jaramillo on bass and John Bartlit on drums, have been together for 10 years.
